An island girl at heart, Laurie Webber grew up on Matinicus where she enjoyed the company of visiting artists from a very early age. Her passion and interest in the arts continued throughout her education and into her adult life where, after beginning a family of her own, Webber began to take college courses. Her art education focused on graphic design with classes at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh.

Laurie has successfully combined her love for painting with her background in graphic design creating her own business SeaGlass Graphics where she not only sells her work, but has created a line of exquisite note cards that feature her art.

She lives part of the year on Matinicus Island, lobstering with her brother, and spends winters in Spruce Head working in her studio.
